Our name, KIGO, comes from the Japanese word for seasonal expressions in poetry. Just as kigo captures the feeling of a moment, we want every trip in Japan to create personal, lasting memories. Seasons change, but our passion for helping travelers remains the same.

Hi, I’m Mayu. I’m born and raised in Kyoto. I have loved traveling for as long as I can remember. Since my first job, I’ve been building a career in inbound travel, helping visitors enjoy Japan in a personal and meaningful way.
I’m also a mom of two energetic boys of mixed Japanese and Malaysian/Singaporean heritage, so I know firsthand the joys and challenges of traveling across cultures.
